Meadowood has announced the hiring of Paula Bodnar as Residence Director. She brings more than 30 years of senior care experience, the last seven or which has been in directorial roles in Waco and the Dallas-Fort Worth area.

“Paula brings good leadership skills with consistency and great tenure as community director in prior companies,” said Chris Sykes, Regional Director of Operations for Legend Senior Living®, the family-owned business located in Wichita, Kansas that owns and operates Meadowood. “She has been in the profession for 30 years in multiple capacities and loves working with seniors.”

For Bodnar, it’s essential that Legend’s values and core principles align with her own. “I believe that when you invest in your associates and make them feel valued, the quality of work greatly increases,” she said. “The quality in turn brings value to the company.”

Her favorite quote is, “The goal is not to be successful, the goal is to be valuable. Once you’re valuable, instead of chasing success, it will attract itself to you.” This exemplifies how Legend’s core values align with her own, most specifically servanthood, she said.

“I love working in senior care because I have a great respect and passion for our elders,” Bodnar said. “They bring great joy to my life and I am confident that my sole purpose on earth is to serve the elderly population.”

As the Residence Director, Bodnar is responsible for everything pertaining to community operations. This includes resident and associate satisfaction, cleanliness of the community, staffing and retention, budget control, and service-level delivery. She has achieved those goals throughout her career. The community she served as Executive Director achieved deficiency-free surveys with Texas Health and Human Services, outstanding health department reviews, and the Local Loves, a community award for Best Assisted Living Community for three consecutive years.

“My first priorities in this new role will be to incorporate strength in our team with positive leadership, offer consistent training of company standards and state regulations, and build upon the foundation of Legend’s core values,” Bodnar said.

Meadowood is dedicated to providing the highest levels of personal service and a warm, comfortable and actively social environment to enrich its residents' lives. It celebrates their unique personalities and lifestyles with services designed especially for their individual needs, so they will thrive in an environment of friendship, family and robust support that values and respects residents' privacy, dignity and independence.
